Jiu-Jitsu

Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, also known as Jujutsu, is a traditional martial art that dates back to the feudal period of Japan, around the 16th century. Developed by samurai as a means of defending themselves in close combat when unarmed or when disarmed in battle, Jiu-Jitsu focuses on joint locks, throws, grappling, and strikes to neutralize an opponent. The art was designed to be effective against armored and armed opponents, utilizing leverage and technique rather than strength.

Over time, Jiu-Jitsu evolved into different styles, with its principles influencing modern martial arts such as Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Aikido. Its historical roots in battlefield combat have led to Jiu-Jitsu’s continued relevance in both self-defense and martial arts training today.
